Directions for Monday & Tuesday 2/21-22/09
Outline Project
you should be finalizing your notes and building your outlines the next two days. Remember to hand in your notes and a Ruff Draft of your Outlines stapled together on Tuesday before the end of class to the bin at the back of the room. No Exceptions! Spring Final Task
You will be creating an image similar to the example I have provided below.
Step one- Find an image of your favorite cartoon character and bring it in to gimp. Render this image and save it in a file that will support transparency and import into Inkscape.
Step Two- With your rendered image in inkscape create a logo like the one below. you must make use of the following operations
For example: I used the Boolean difference option to create the crescent shapes around the outside of my logo.
Also Describe the difference between the three image formats below
Jpeg,PNG, GIF

- Boolean Operations.

Directions for Monday and Tuesday 4/27 & 28
Continue to work on your instructional projects.
The hand outs and tutorials can be found on Joe's site which is linked up on the class web site.
The last group should be, Tylor, Katie and ?
If you need help or direction see, Riley, Whitney and Shawndi
Prep items for printing.
Please do not print untill I return on Wed. How ever you can get the documents ready to print.
Please insert the image into publisher and size it so that is almost full page. Please prep the following.
1. choose 2 of your Gimp Edits
2. Choose either your Flash City drawing or your Dump Truck
If you finish you should be working in inkscape notice the new page on the class web site.

Gif Task
Create an animated .gif using the pictures in the share folder "Test Assets". Your finished .gif must be posted on your blog.

2.You may choose what you like for the background
3. "B" Size: 73 Pattern Fill:Warning!\
4. "X" Size: 102 Gradient Fill: Your Choice
5. You should have Three seprate layers
6. Please call me over to grade

Directions for Wed-Monday

First Task - Pan's Labyrinth Edit
Again this this is a tutorial from YouTube the original can be viewed here. I did not feel I needed to do another video for this tutorial. The pictures you need for this edit can be found in the shared folder (Gimp-Hands & Eyes)
Second Task- Advanced Pop Art Edit
This edit is a more advanced version of the first pop art edit we worked through. You can use one of the photos you took or I have created a shared folder titled "Pop Art Pics" that you contains pictures that I thought may make good pop art. Click here to view the tutorial.
Third Task- Texture Face
You will need your head shot and a texture photo for this task. There are some textures in the shared folder for you to use. Click here for the tutorial

Spot Check
Doing a spot check I did not see much progress posted on your blogs.
No students with the custom layered banners and only two with thier Pop Art pics posted.
If you are having trouble with the banner move on to the pop art tutorial and/or the GIF.
Again please post any finised work.
Hint: To post your custom banner you must save the file as a jpeg or else blogger will not accept it.
Robert H. You will give your speech first thing on Thursday. please be prepared.

Photot Settings
Using the Collage feature in Picasa create a collage for each the settings we worked with. you should end up with at least four in your post. Remember to provide a brief description for each setting. Title your post "Photo Settings"

For Monday Tuesday and Wednesday you
will be working in GIMP. There are a series on tutorials that will teach you some cool edits. You
will post all of your work on your blog as you finish each edit. All video tutorials can be found in you classes shared folder.
1st Tutorial-Layers
This tutorial consists of two videos first click here to watch a video from YouTube discussing the use of layers. Once you have watched the first video go to the shared file and watch the video titled "layer banner".

2nd Tutorial- Pop-Art
The video can be found in the shared folder you will need to open your head shot in gimp before starting this tutorial. Once you have finished this tutorial please post your finished product on to your blog. Please title the post "Pop Art" and provide a brief description of the tools used. Orginal tutorial here
3rd Tutorial- Animated GIF

Last Task- Animated GIF 200
Use what you learned in the previous tutorial to create an GIF that cycles thru the action photos you took. Hint you may need to change the cycle speed.

Directions for Monday 1/12/08
Photo Story Projects Due at the end of the period Tuesday.
The mics are up by my desk. If you need to take your picture we will do that on Tuesday. Those of you with the hardware at home I strongly advise you to take your photo at home and email it to yourself. Be sure to ask Jocelyn for help if you get stuck.
