Directions for Monday & Tuesday 2/21-22/09

Outline Project
you should be finalizing your notes and building your outlines the next two days. Remember to hand in your notes and a Ruff Draft of your Outlines stapled together on Tuesday before the end of class to the bin at the back of the room. No Exceptions! If you have any questions please post them in the comments section of this post. (log in using your google accounts)

Spring Final Task

You will be creating an image similar to the example I have provided below.

Step one- Find an image of your favorite cartoon character and bring it in to gimp. Render this image and save it in a file that will support transparency and import into Inkscape.

Step Two- With your rendered image in inkscape create a logo like the one below. you must make use of the following operations
  1. Text to path.
  2. Dynamic Offset.
  3. Boolean Operations.
Step Three- Post your finished logo on to your blog with a description of how you used the above operations.

For example: I used the Boolean difference option to create the crescent shapes around the outside of my logo.

Also Describe the difference between the three image formats below

Directions for Monday and Tuesday 4/27 & 28

Continue to work on your instructional projects.
The hand outs and tutorials can be found on Joe's site which is linked up on the class web site.
The last group should be, Tylor, Katie and ?
If you need help or direction see, Riley, Whitney and Shawndi

Prep items for printing.
Please do not print untill I return on Wed. How ever you can get the documents ready to print.
Please insert the image into publisher and size it so that is almost full page. Please prep the following.
1. choose 2 of your Gimp Edits
2. Choose either your Flash City drawing or your Dump Truck


If you finish you should be working in inkscape notice the new page on the class web site.
we will be learning some tools in inkscape and then you will be designing a t-shirt for a skateboard camp I teach in the summer. More details latter. Click here to proceed to the Inkscape page

Gif Task
Create an animated .gif using the pictures in the share folder "Test Assets". Your finished .gif must be posted on your blog. 

Layers Task









Please create a similar banner in gimp. Here are the specs.
1. Background layer has a width of 400 and a hight of 200
2.You may choose what you like for the background
3. "B" Size: 73 Pattern Fill:Warning!\
4. "X" Size: 102 Gradient Fill: Your Choice 
5. You should have Three seprate layers 
6. Please call me over to grade

Directions for Wed-Monday



First Task - Pan's Labyrinth Edit
Again this this is a tutorial  from YouTube the original can be viewed here. I did not feel I needed to do another video for this tutorial. The pictures you need for this edit can be found in the shared folder (Gimp-Hands & Eyes)



Second Task- Advanced Pop Art Edit
This edit is a more advanced version of the first pop art edit we worked through. You can use one of the photos you took or I have created a shared folder titled "Pop Art Pics" that you contains pictures that I thought may make good pop art. Click here to view the tutorial.

Third Task- Texture Face
